How do you celebrate your Summer Solstice?

Dear Witches,

It has been quite some time, my witches. I always intend to post regularly, but life often intervenes. I have so much to share, as I wish to share tips to how to enjoy this summer solstice. I have so much to share, as I wish to impart all the magic I have collected over the past years of being a kitchen witch, a water witch, and a green witch. In reality you tend to have many different paths as a witch.

These are the primary magickal parts of my life in harmony with mother nature and her realm. I will be sharing different activities you can engage in during this summer solstice throughout this July.

This month is special to me as it celebrates the astrology of Cancer and its moon magick. This is my favourite month due to it being summer and my birthday month.

Sharing insight on how to enjoy and embrace the summer solstice throughout your heart medicine. This includes exploring various cultural traditions surrounding the summer activities.

Let’s begin with Sweden which they embrace summer solstice throughout embracing the wild flowers by creating flower crowns. They embrace with other feminine power through gathering in a circle that honours the sun and embrace in Maypole dancing. They engage in folk music that honours their ancestors through the art of folk dancing. Of they embrace the power of food within the solstice season such as; pickled herring, new potatoes, cured salmon and many others.

In magickal places like Austria and Spain they embrace bonfires through honouring past ancestors. They often embrace the jumping over the bonfires to bring them luck and good fortune.

In England it is quite special as it holds great significance at the Stonehenge, which I have been and there are no words at the vibration that is held around these stones. They are enormous and designed in a circular space and honouring the SUN. Crowd’s gather around the Stone hedge stones to witness the sunrise over the HEEL stone.

IN Italy which I just learned from a friend who hosts The Three Witches on instagram as she is travelling in Italy this summer and was shared this beautiful tradition. IT is called Acqua Di San Giovanni and begins at sunset on June 23rd but I am sure you can create this when it feels called to throughout the year! It is a floral water infused with herbs and flowers left out to collect dew overnight on the evening of this festival.This water is believed to have been purified, bring protection and banish envy from your home & spirit.

So many exciting ways to celebrate the summer magick!

I will not leave you with a few of my spellwork that I curated throughout this special season. my spell work for the month of July Sunwater magic fill with water set it outside at high noon and let it soak up that solar goodness for a few hours. Add your sun water to a spray bottle. Add these essential oils, orange mint, and cinnamon I will create an anointing oil by adding some of the water with almond oil roast petals, rosemary, mint, orange, peels, cinnamon sticks, and I add the same essential oils as mentioned above I’ve added to the spray bottle. I use this oil to annoy my candles.

• Magic Spray Bottle: I will magically share some of my spell-work: Gather a witchy jar to fill with some water that you will leave out in the power of the sun so it is infused with the rays powers. Once evening arrives, gather your witchy jar and bring it indoors. Have a small spray bottle that I encourage to decorate with witchy items! It sets your intentions. Add to this bottle loose rose petals, orange peels, grated lemon skin, a few rosemary petals, and some mint. I would suggest to gather these essentials oils: clove, orange, mint, and cinnamon. Add a few drops into your spray bottle, shake it and leave it under the moonlight. By the magick of the morning dew it is ready to be used around your home! It is safe to spray on couches, inside your car, front entrance and anywhere else they energy needs to be uplifted.
• Anointed oils: I would save a little of your sun water, and gather a small tincture dark coloured bottle and pour the rest of your sun water. You will gather almond oil and add it to fill the bottle almost mid way. Add your essential oils, a few cloves, rose petals and lavender petals. Use this anointed oil to your tapered candles and set your intentions with a mantra and meditation music with a viking vibe to it. Allow your candle to burn as you journal your spell-work.
• July Pot Recipe: I intentionally gather orange slices, grapefruit slices: joyfulness, apple slices: passion & love, lemon peel: bringing clarity, small amount of rosemary: brings in protection and cinnamon: abundance & energy. I always add some rose petals and I choose pink as it brings me love & calmness. I add my sun water & moon water to an antique copper cauldron. I allow the water to simmer: I add all of my mystic floral magick and place it in the cauldron. I then gather my essential oils; use what calls to you! I step back and allow the simmering cauldron’s aromas to travel through my hearth & home and find all it’s dark corners allowing lightness back in.
• Garden Magick: Place meditation music, have candles lite, grab either a Smudge-stick, Smoke- bundle, or Palo Santo stick. Light it up, allow the smoke to travel throughout your garden. Set an intention and state a mantra over your garden.
• Witchy Wind Chime: Gather sticks, string, sea-shells, feathers, crystals, flower magick, charms… whatever calls to you! Create a circle shape with willow tree branches and then add all of your collected items and form a chime! When you place each item crate an enchanted spell of intention to each item you place on your wind chime. Shells: bring in communication Bells: Dispels unwanted energy when you ring them Feathers: represent energy flow & freedom and Crystals: Grounding, connection and natures love. Hang your wind chime by an entrance or within your garden to create your intentions and bring in magick & protection.
